Shellfish water quality in the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence
Highlights
The overall state of access to shellfish harvesting areas as a function of water quality in the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence is considered "intermediate-good" between 2014 and 2020. The shellfish area assessment and classification recommendations issued in 2020 are based on data collected from May through November 2019. Water quality and the proportion of areas that meet the criteria for an approved or conditionally approved area vary by region and follow the same trend as in 2014.
