Directory of public access
The Directory of public access to the St. Lawrence River contains information on 2650 public access sites. The information, obtained from 46 sources, was previously published between 1989 and 2009. The Directory covers the entire St. Lawrence River, from Cornwall to Blanc-Sablon, and includes the Magdalen Islands and Anticosti Island.
Some public access sites in the directory are multi-use; for example, people can use a riverside park for swimming, picnicking and water-based activities (3 uses). More than 4000 uses have been listed for the 2650 public access sites. These sites and their uses, indicated by symbols, are displayed on 121 maps.
Caution: This directory does not claim to describe all public access sites to the St. Lawrence River. The only public access sites listed in the directory are those for which information has been provided by the 19 organizations participating in the project.
You can consult the five index maps that cover the whole territory in the survey, as well as Quebec’s regional county municipality (RCM) maps, which are listed in alphabetical order. You can also consult the data base of the Directory of public access to the St. Lawrence in the INFO St. Lawrence application on the Website of the St. Lawrence Global Observatory. (French only)
